A film which looks at the lives of some of the Ireland’s most famous traditional fiddle musicians: Michael Coleman, James Morrison and Paddy Killoran.

From the rambling houses of south County Sligo to the world stage in New York, the film casts an eye on the early 20th century when these musicians were in the vanguard of traditional Irish music on the world stage. Depicting their rise within the recording industry, the indelible mark they left on Irish music at home and abroad, and the personal tragedies which evoke both musical genius and human frailty, The Sligo Masters revives the memories of Coleman, Killoran and Morrison in a fascinating, revealing and personal way.

A reception will follow the screening.
